PAINTING ON A PRINTED IMAGE LIFE BOOK 2015

I did this Life Book class earlier and was not enthralled with the results so decided to skip it and went on with the next one but decided I needed to go back and do it as a lesson in perseverance. The class was to take a printed image and paint it. Seemed sort of foolish to me which is the reason I didn't do it before...To make it more interesting and since I am a bit tired of painting cute whimsical  faces I found a male face on the internet and set about doing the class. Once I got started I veered off drastically from the teacher and wen about doing my own thing. I like what I ended up with. Not what I started out to do but most of my work ends up different then the original intent...I am posting both the original and the finished so you can see what I did. I think it is sort of fun to see them side by side.

I used water color crayons and Prismacolor pencils and acrylic paints highlighting with Micron pens

  1. Dear Darlene! Thank you so much for sharing this image! I love the results you got! I believe that I think in this way...to take a realistic image and move it to my mystical place of imagination! I love the liveliness of this forest spirit. You have transformed a suffering strong face into one that might now burst in dance through the woods!
